Two of the new operating rooms built at the HOSPITAL ORTOPÉDICO INFANTIL, which are part of a broader project of modernization and renovation of the surgical area, aimed at providing a better service and increasing surgical capacity, are already in operation. The new operating rooms have a large surface area and are designed to be able to attend all types of surgeries. They comply with the current regulations in terms of minimum required areas, distribution and facilities necessary for specialized surgeries. They have a control room for telemedicine, through which the surgical activity can be digitally transmitted from the operating rooms to wherever it is required in real time, as a support to the institution's teaching program, as well as having the ability to record the interventions.
A new sterilization area was built within the spaces, guaranteeing hygiene, complying with current sanitary regulations and effective management of biological waste and cleaning of surgical instruments.
Two other operating rooms that are part of this project will soon be incorporated into the operation.
